What Makes the Bio-Belt Different
the Bio-Belt does not squeeze the torso circumferentially like most, if not all other lumbar support devices-- it uses opposing forces between the two plates (front and back) attached by the nylon webbing on the sides-- if you push with you gut-- it applies more pressure on the lower back (the posterior lateral quadratus lumborum [QL] muscle).
If one has weak abdominal muscles that hold the gut in, the belly protrudes-- creating a "sway-back", which then pulls the back vertabrae out of alignment.

If we had six-pack abs, chances are that our back problems wouldn't be that great or so severe. Unfortunately, most people do not-- and the spine receives little support, and thereby aggravates an already susceptible arthritic or degenerative condition.
The Bio-Belt's two rigid panels provide a flat surface that compress, flatten, and support the weakened or atrophied abs-- so they can more function as if they were a six pack. In the presence of lower back pain, the body's autonomic (biomechanical) response is to engage the abs to support the stress on the lower lumbar. When the abs are weak and unsupportive, this only pulls the lumbar forward out of alignment-- further exacerbating the condition and the pain. The The Bio-Belt® flattens the abs providing rigid support by immobilizing the abs.
